Some of the units I bought the tilt mechanism is already broken, six months. Dont know how the frame can go into a square opening and the sash locks are crooked?

I thought these would be great windows. They are not as stable as wood. Dont know how the window can go into a frame less than a 64th of square and the locks miss by more than an 8th inch.

how will aluminum stand against salt compared to UPVC

I am in SW Florida looking for an 8 foot slider. But these doors all have high sills that are tripping hazards. Are all new slider door sills higher then 3/4? This is bizarre! Some doors ever have an additional 3 or 4 inch high strip across the threshold. I am confused as hell. My old aluminum door is maybe 3/4 high and not a trip hazard. can you help me

Excellent video! I think the only small detail that will be helpful is to measure the length of the smaller arm on the opener. There appears to be various lengths in the market and that may impact the repair. By watching this and a few other videos, learned that there is a RIGHT SIDE & LEFT SIDE opener (view the location of the double gears before purchasing). Thanks for posting this concise video.

I believe I have this type. But can't see the string part. My string is loose and has the knife-lock end for my window foot (looks triangular). I haven't taken all apart yet but still trying to figure out as much as possible before I do. Do you have pics of the entire working mechanism from behind the channel? Why is my string just loose with no tension, on both sides? Help thanks

This is the one and only video that actually shows how to do this on a window that is 18 years old and no longer made. I was able to repair my windows and avoided spending a ton of $$$$ on replacements. Thanks.

Finally, this video is great! It showed exactly what I needed to remove my jamb liners. I have different brand windows but they are so similar it worked beautifully.. Now I can replace the balance hardware to fix my 2003 windows. Thanks!

There's no way to open the door from the outside using a key! In other words you can lock yourself in, but not lock from outside when leaving.
